The servants' wing at Rosier Manor was not generally so cramped, nor so glum. Despite the Clovennian trappings, the space was, generally, about as light and airy as it had ever been, back when the Manor had been called Hiareth. But as the servants' beds filled up with a variety of increasingly sick people, even the bright, pastel colors of the linens couldn't soften the mood of the makeshifts sickbay cum quarantine area.
By Friday afternoon, nearly every one of the small-but-cozy double beds was occupied by a miserable-feeling Aurellian. A substantial number of cots had been carefully arranged in the common room as well, and these accommodated many of the manor's temporary guests, those who had been brought by worried friends from town. Healthy and sick people alike were received in the foyer by Clovennian staff wearing surgical masks, at which point the sick person was escorted to the servants' wing and given a cot, while the healthy person stayed behind to wait for a quick examination by Dr. Rosier or Mr. Nagaraja, and encouraged to go home upon being declared healthy.
Dr. Rosier was a near-constant presence, and she was nearly always on her feet, rushing between patient examinations in the foyer and making rounds through every room in the servants' wing, keeping careful notes about each patient on a clipboard that rarely left her hand. For those Aurellians uncomfortable with being treated by a Clovennian doctor, Mr. Nagaraja was almost always close by to treat patients with whatever Aurellian remedies they preferred. Religious personnel, including the Danu himself, also made several appearances throughout the length of the quarantine, though volunteers were not, on Dr. Rosier's orders, permitted to stay the night, during which time healthy Clovennian and Aurellian staff were released either to find their own accommodations, or sleep in one of the luxurious upstairs rooms temporarily converted for their use.
Fully a third of the house's pots had been repurposed as vomit receptacles, which were periodically emptied by brave (and selfless) staff, or an occasional (almost always Aurellian) volunteer. What pots remained in the kitchen were used to provide a steady stream of broth, which was carefully fed to patients at mealtimes, or upon request. Tea and water were similarly (and sometimes firmly) provided, to keep patients from dehydration. Books, games, and journals were available for amusement, and a low buzz of chatter permeated the common room at most hours.
[Thread open! This will run really similarly to the Turning thread, just with a slightly bigger scope since it'll cover more days of play. Be sure to mark the approximate day/time/location as well as characters involved in your thread headers, and, as in the Turning thread, feel free improvise details and make up NPCs as necessary. You may also choose to set a thread during Turning, but create your own separate thread entry, if you think the thread will be long. Since the quarantine will be in place until people start to get better, there could theoretically be threads set on Sunday of next game week in this group thread, but please hold off until the Week Change is posted late next week to start anything on Sunday. Let us know if you have any questions!]
