Reagan & Viola | Evening; Directly after her dance with Luke | Town Circle
Typically, Viola didn't take very well to being laughed at. Most Cloves didn't, after all, and her shoulders stiffened mostly out of habit. But then, as Reagan's laughter gave way to bright-eyed giggling, Viola's face, too, broke into a broad grin. Clearly it wasn't that she'd said the wrong thing, but the right one, a fact confirmed when Reagan declared that she liked her.
Which was oddly pleasing, and not in the usual way. Viola had been told she was liked many times, but she knew better than to actually believe it. Most Clove compliments didn't really mean anything; in fact in most cases they often meant the opposite of what was said. But this time, the way Reagan said it, the openness on her face...
"Then you should come by for tea," Viola said resolutely, gesturing grandly with her arm. "We can gossip and embroider together."
