Simon & Lachlan | Late Morning | Town Circle
Of the three Fox brothers, Lachlan was least familiar with Simon. He had known Teague for a lifetime, as a friend and fellow fighter. Luke was impossible to miss, and Lachlan felt sure he would have known the younger Fox even if he hadn’t been a childhood friend of Morrigan’s. Simon was another story again, and always seemed to skirt around the perimeter of Lachlan’s awareness without doing enough to warrant his full attention.
Until now.
For a moment it appeared as if Lachlan had turned to stone when he froze so completely in place. I saw what you were up to with her. His mind immediately went back to the night at the train tracks, though he couldn’t imagine how Simon had seen. Lachlan’s gaze remained trained on Fiona for a moment, until a shift with the dancers obscured her from view. He looked back at Simon then, betraying nothing in his voice, but there was danger there in the intensity of his gaze. Not many would have willingly gone somewhere without witnesses more private when Lachlan when he looked at them like that.
