Here, Elias couldn't help but laugh - it was abrupt and short. "Your friends are kind to you, then, because you wouldn't want to wear some of the things I've received in the past." Not the newest gift of cologne, as it was merely a new bottle of his favourite, coming from someone he wanted nothing to do with. But before, he had been gifted all manner of awful colognes, some of which were probably suitable only for sexagenarians.
"It is." As if to challenge the younger man, Elias finished his drink. It was a mistake, because he immediately wanted more, and something stronger, if possible. "No, the cider would be too sweet for me, but clearly not for you." He lifted the empty mug, "The ale is sweet, too, but it has elderflowers, so it's also slightly bitter."
