"You're awful," she hissed, and true to form she did indeed backhand him a second time. She knew he was only saying it to get a rise out of her, of course... he might have been the only person alive or dead who could insult her work and get away with it only because she knew he didn't mean it.
And besides, she truly enjoyed making him laugh, and she beamed when he did. "I have excellent balance. If I started an act it would be impressive, and they'd sell tickets," she informed him haughtily, and she went chin-up to finish off the remainder of her cider.
Setting the empty cup down on the nearest available surface, she took his extended hand and immediately curled her fingers around his, coming into step beside him with another lopsided smile. "And you clearly need to be reminded how to ask a lady to dance," she teased. "'Hurry up and finish yours'? You're lucky it's your birthday."
