"I'm very glad I came by when I did," he replied and then bit his lip. He felt as though he were talking a bit in circles. Had he actually said anything of merit? Only when he'd brought up her talent, and that had an interesting response from her. She still seemed reluctant to talk about it, even though they were alone and he obviously already knew.
"I would love more of your candles," he responded, "Though..." and here he paused and took a chance, "I'd really be content with more of your company. Perhaps later when you're feeling fully healed, we might go to lunch?" He reached out to her, gently, going for the hand that was twisting in her skirt. "If you'd rather I not discuss your talent at all, I can refrain from it. I see it makes you somewhat uncomfortable, even in private."
