"Ah, my mistake, then," Madoc apologized, smile gone a little sheepish. "I noticed you a few times around the tavern and just assumed. I can't fault you your choice of haunts, though. The White Horse is one of the better places I've stayed during my travels. And your presence only adds to its appeal." It was a careless flirtation but Madoc meant it nonetheless, and he had no doubt Emrys would agree.
"As for my business in the city," Madoc shrugged and grinned. "It's just pleasure for now. I'll have to see how my fortune pans out. Now, shall we take advantage of our strategic morning shopping?" He stepped forward to hold the door to the shop open for her.
