Time seemed to have frozen for a moment, taking Tegwaret's eyelids with it as his heart stopped. In the back of his mind, he cursed himself for being so stupid and not waiting to see if anyone was coming. He was distracted for sure. Now, not one day after arriving, his shelter was spotted.
He searched for the words to say, wondering if a lie could cover. After his mouth gaped a few times, small gasps of air escaping his desperate throat, he smiled.
"Hello, there." Tegwaret raised a hand, waving in hopes of distracting from the blush that ran across his cheeks. "I...I hope I didn't take your spot here." His thoughts plowed forward, lies of innocence coming one after another. "I didn't see any markings or remains that had indicated someone else was living here, unless you're a very tidy person, in which case I salute you, indeed." A deep grin spread across his face, red with embarrassment.
