Leland didn't really know just how much this meant to Teg, not until now. In fact he still wasn't aware of how little contact Teg tended to have with people. There was a lot about the man that Leland still had to discover, just like there was a lot about himself he hadn't told Teg yet. But he could see in the other man's eyes a kind of worry, uncertainty and almost desperation as he spoke.
"I promise. I won't leave town without letting you know. Whether by my own mouth, or messenger, or flitchhawk with a note as to when I'll need you to lead me through these woods again. And maybe you'll come into town and it won't be as difficult as you think." The last thing Tegwaret said struck a chord though. Leland knew he was alone, and that was part of the reason he wanted to surround himself with people again. Privately he thought Tegwaret might benefit from the same, but maybe in smaller doses, and maybe in time. Maybe maybe maybe. Leland knew nothing for sure.
"Come on Teg, let's keep going. It's going to be fine." He wrapped Teg in a one-armed hug, the other still holding his pack over his shoulder.
