Leland didn't know where Teg's thoughts had turned as they walked, but his own turned inward. He was silent for a bit, but had he known what his friend was thinking, he would have volunteered an answer with no hesitation. Leland healed even the smallest cuts, not only because he felt it was right, but because sometimes, it actually hurt if he didn't. It wasn't completely altruistic, but it still boiled down to him being unable to bear someone being in pain. The more severe the wound or pain, the more severely Leland felt the need to heal it. So while part of it was to ease someone else's suffering, part of it was also to ease his own, to answer what he felt was a calling.
"I thought much the same way," Leland agreed. "Even in a place that seems to have no games being called, there are still many injuries and maladies that need healing. I don't expect I'll be short on work. And you're right. Woodsmen, Traders and the like frequently need healing. So do children coming into their abilities without full use of it yet, or those foolhardy youngsters who don't know their own limits. It occurred to me I could even take on work as a healer in the Sapphire school, were such a position available."
