Leland moved toward Tegwaret to help him completely disperse the fire, but then paused at that question. "Rancelman, hmm...you have seeing then, don't you? Perhaps we should look ahead and see if there are any immediate dangers that might crop up. That way we can do our best to avoid them. My reading really works best to keep others out of my head, and to glean what's in others. If I attempted to read now, all I'd get would be what I could read off you."
It was a very good idea, attempting to use their talents to prevent a possible outcome, and the sort of thing Leland wouldn't have thought of on his own steam. Further evidence that he needed someone else's company, someone who could think like that, at least so long as they were traveling the wilds thus.
