Leland was one of those people who didn't think twice before rushing to heal someone, before putting anyone but himself first. It was a hallmark to how selfless he was, but sometimes it put him in danger, something he rarely noticed before it was too late. He'd done it before - run in to heal someone when it wasn't safe to do so. He'd do it again without thinking, certainly.
Tegwaret seemed far more self-reliant, something Leland admired. Leland watched the other man as he worked on the fire, noticing how he did everything as though he didn't have to think about it. Teg might have been living off the land a while to grow those kind of survival skills. Or maybe he'd always had a knack for it. Leland wasn't sure, but either way, it was a skill he wished he truly had, not just barely managed.
"I hear you. I know the drive to get somewhere, to settle down and start over. I had an...experience than made me have to leave where I'd settled. I want to make a stable life for myself, and with the reputation the Sapphire Domain has, I thought this might be the place. It's also not terribly far from home, if I want to see the family." He struck his flint, aiming it so sparks landed on the kindling gathered. After two strikes, sparks slowly started growing into a proper fire. "Come on over here Teg, lemme take a look while the fire grows. I'll need to see how much power I need to draw."
