"They were great," he enthused. "I never had anything like them before. The pizza was pretty good too, but Torunn liked that more than me. And the chicken nuggets were gross." He didn't know why anyone liked them. Any more than he knew why he was talking about chicken nuggets, out of all the things he could be talking about.
"Yeah. Tony mentioned some of those things. The strawberries was weird. But not bad, really. Kind of boring, but we got used to eating the same food all the time." The dome hadn't exactly had an endless supply of available food choices.
He liked that Steve was going right ahead and including them all in that declaration, though. Getting through everything together. James and Torunn and Pym, they were a part of that. A part of an even bigger family. It was strange, but not in a bad way. Just different. The part of him that felt like the one who'd screwed so much up had a hard time reconciling that these kinds of things could just happen. But here was Steve Rogers, sitting opposite him and telling him they were all in this together.
"What do you like about it? Besides the people, I mean." Because he knew that had to be important already. Maybe he liked being alive? But then this one hadn't died. Which just made him wish he'd been born in this universe instead. Then he'd have had a dad and wouldn't have grown up in the dome. Without Torunn and Pym. Okay that part sucked. But maybe they could have still been together. It was confusing.
"I talked to Bucky. Sargeant Barnes. He's cool. You guys must be pretty good friends."
