[forever and a day later i'm so sorry]
Peter, in most ways that felt comfortably familiar, seemed like the same somewhat awkward kid guy she knew from school. Knowing for certain now that he is Spider-Man, and an Avenger no less, should have raised his esteem in her eyes, but he still seemed the same to her. Then again, as it turned out, MJ was right and he had always been Spider-Man.
And now he was here, and so was she, and he was kind of staring at her. Which naturally made MJ feel rather self-conscious. She wasn't great about having attention on her. Academic decathlon was one thing, but other than being called on in class, she really much preferred to glide under the radar at school. She did well on her tests, papers, and projects, but she didn't like most social situations. She had carved her niche as the weird loner intellectual girl and she was fine with that.
Stepping aside to let him in, MJ crossed her arms and asked, tone a little more defensive than she intended. "And now are you going to keep staring at me all day?"
