She groaned loudly as she stood and rubbed against her temples. "Don't remind me. I can't believe the things I said to Cassie. The worst is that I remember doing it and...ugh." It was enough to leave the sourest taste in her mouth for weeks. Even months with Kate's track record. It sent a shiver down her spine that such statements could even be spoken.
"So, you forgive me then? No groveling needed? I know I said some pretty rude things to you, too." There was friendly and witty banter, and then there were the horrible things Kate had said. She and Clint could have their differences and disagreements, but they were still partners in not-crime.
Looking down at Lucky, Kate gave him a half-grin. "What do you say, boy? I think Clint could forgive me, right?" While Lucky was quick to forgive, he gave a questionable sound and tilted his head to one side.
Kate looked mildly crestfallen. "Damn. I really am in hot water, aren't I?"
