Who: Ben, Alison, and Five Hargreeves What: They’ve both de-aged! Where: Wandering around the town When: Saturday morning
Ben … well, he didn’t know a lot, but he knew he wasn’t supposed to be here. First, he woke in the middle of the night and the sleeping hat that his dad had made them all wasn’t on his head. That was weird. And he wasn’t in his room… this bed was much bigger than his, and when he looked out the window, he could see… a beach?
Still, not wanting to be in trouble for sneaking out at night, Ben stayed in the room where he didn’t belong. He didn’t sleep, but he stayed in that bed. Mom would probably come soon to call him for breakfast, or Pogo to explain whatever exercise this was supposed to be. But the sun was rising, and still, no one came.
He only poked his head out the door long enough to see who was there, and it wasn’t anyone he knew. That made him nervous. He closed the door as he saw an older person walk past, as quietly as he could, and then he scrambled to climb out the window in clothing that was far too big for him.
Once his feet were in the dirt, he took off running, holding his shorts up at the waist as he did so. Once he had found a small place to hide, he began to think things out. This was a test, something that dad had orchestrated because no one could possibly have broken into the academy and taken him. Maybe the others were around?
He moved from his hiding place. “Academy?!” He shouted out, looking around. “Anyone?”
