The night air was filled with the sounds of people chattering, the shouts of a muggle magician as he performed, music from various buskers, and the general hustle and bustle which had come to be known as Covent Garden. There were the aromas of strong coffee and very sweet foods dotted about the place, lights of varying colours illuminated everything, and the stalls were full of all sorts of interesting objects. But none of it was what Casey had bought Nicky there to see. He shot her smirk as they rounded a corner and moved into a clearing. Ahead of them, a carousel was spinning and spilling tinkling music into the air.
"I hope you don't get motion sickness on these things," he told her as they reached the short line beside. It was mostly filled with children up past their bedtimes and the parents of those children, so the two unattached teens looked somewhat out of place. Part of him wondered if she'd be disappointed that this was all it was, if she'd gotten herself too worked up over the surprise aspect. He hoped not, yet there was little he could do about it if she was disappointed. "How've your first few days home been?" he added, starting a conversation while they waited. His had been awful, to put it mildly, but he was trying not to dwell. Only eight more sleeps and he’d get another few months away. Casey tucked his hands into his jacket pockets.
