Logan had decided to delay joining the others at a bar as he wanted to see the Colosseum - having opted to go to the Sistine Chapel earlier. While sauntering through the ruins, he encountered a pretty girl his own age who was a native of Rome. Inevitably some flirting ensued, but Lucia was also very knowledgeable about the city, and proud of its history, and before Logan even asked, offered to show him some of the places that tourists didn’t know about. Logan hesitated briefly, because he did intend to join his friends, but Lucia was very pretty and it was hard to resist a pretty girl who was just as passionate about history as he was.
Two hours of exploring later and Lucia invited Logan to her home, a central city apartment, which she said had a magnificent view of this city all lit up. Later, he admitted that alarm bells probably should have started ringing when she said her parents were out, but he was so busy admiring the place at the time, running his hands along the walls and thinking how one day he hoped to have an apartment like this of his own, preferably in Italy too, that he didn’t think Lucia was up to anything. However, there was no escaping her intention when suddenly literally jumped him. Surprised, Logan fell back on a nearby couch and when he managed to free his lips, he expressed his surprise. Lucia chuckled, and frankly admitted that she wanted a lot more than just a thank you kiss before he left.
Logan experienced a mental struggle. His body was definitely not opposed to Lucia's desires, but his head didn’t think this was a very good plan. Yes, he had hooked up with a couple of girls over the course of the trip, and yes, he had spent a good portion of the night with one, but nothing had actually happened beyond a bit of snogging. Besides that he was also feeling wrong about this, and that feeling was annoying him, because he didn’t know why. After all, he was a healthy male in his late teens! Perhaps it was just because he wasn’t spending time as much time with his friends as he should be... yes, that had to be it. Plus Delia was making those annoying digs lately, which shouldn’t irritate him, but they did, much more that anything else. Just at that moment, her face popped into his head, causing surprise and resentment to flare up.. Delia had no right intruding into his thoughts, and he didn’t need to feel anxious about disappointing her - she knew what he was like!
He clung to the resentment, not emotionally ready to understand the underlying cause, and let it overtaken common sense. Despite his initial thoughts to decline Lucia, Logan decided instead to just go with the flow and reached out for her, kissing her eagerly, much to her delight. Clothing went flying - his t-shirt ending up across the room - and it was fairly obvious that Logan was not the first boy Lucia had brought home for a 'rest'.
Things were just getting heavy when a door slammed and a loud male voice called out Lucia’s name. Underneath Logan, Lucia stiffened and then pushed him away. "Papa!" she yelped, diving for her top and yanking it on.
"Papa?" Logan repeated, quickly scrambling up and looking for his shirt. Before he could find it and at least attempt to look respectable, a large balding man flung open the door and glared at the scene, particularly the half-naked Logan. He turned a terrible gaze on Lucia who immediately burst into tears and sobbed about this 'foreigner' forcing himself on her and how she had tried to resist, really she had, but he was so much stronger. Despite the urgency of the situation, Logan was so surprised by her stabbing him in the back, that he gaped open mouthed at her and only just managed to dodge a lunge from her outraged father in time.
What happened next was a blur, but the next thing Logan knew, he was running out of the apartment - still without his t-shirt - and Lucia's father was lumbering behind, yelling insults and calling for others to catchy 'this dirty foreign bastard' so he could teach him a lesson. Logan had no desire to look back and see if others had joined so he kept running, unable to apparate because Muggles would see and he doubted the Ministry would look kindly on him for jeopardising the magical world because of this!
He hurtled down the street, stared at by passers by - locals and tourists alike - with Lucia's father continuing to yell behind him. For an old bloke the man really knew how to run! He was searching for a deserted alley way, but because he was now on the Spanish Steps there were people everywhere and then he spotted Delia. Forgetting his earlier resentment, Logan felt a sense of relief and headed for her, reaching out to her. "D! D! Help!"
Delia hadn’t been sleeping well, Logan had been right about that, but she wasn’t losing sleep because of the break with her mother. She couldn’t sleep because it seemed like every time she closed her eyes her mind decided that it wanted to play back the interlude with Logan. It didn’t matter how many girls he hooked up with while they were on the road trip her brain insisted on reminding her what it had felt like for those few minutes to be with Logan like that. To point out to her how many girls have been in the same position since they left London a little over a week ago.
She was wandering around alone (since she wasn’t really in the mood for company) when she saw Logan racing toward her with a large man hot on his heels. She was hit with another wave of irritation with him for his behaviour since they’d left but swallowed it as well as she could.
She took his hand in hers, "What do you need?” she asked.
Logan looked back, Lucia’s father was still advancing and really very puce in the face now. “I need... to get away from.... him," he gasped, wiping sweat from his eyes. He had no idea how long he’d been running, but since it was a warm evening, it was inevitable he was going to perspire from such exertion. "Distraction or something..." Lucia’s father was closing in and Logan yelped, starting to run again and pulling Delia along with him.
