FAQs
What is the basic premise of the game? It is approximately the year 2029, 18 years after Judgment Day (April 21st, 2011), with Skynet online and fully operational. The number of humans in the Resistance, under the leadership of John Connor, is peaking at its highest and their resources that help them to fight back are growing each day, but there are still some civilians out there in the world that do not have that kind of protection. The machines are still the dominant beings on the planet and have kept their focus on their ultimate goal -- extermination of the human race.
3 year ago, the machines acquired the technology that enabled them to send cybernetic soldiers back in time in order to secretly study human weaknesses or perhaps cause changes in the past that would benefit Skynet; one specific Terminator was assigned to a different and special mission: to kill Sarah Connor, mother to John Connor. Fortunately for the Resistance, they captured the building that housed the technology and blew it to smitherines but not after sending back a man by the name of Kyle Reese to protect her. Skynet then built a secondary time travel device, only this time, an even more advanced machine was sent back to kill Connor himself during his pre-teens. Connor and the Resistance, however, had by then built their own device and had sent back a reprogrammed Terminator in order to stop this once again. After it proved successful, Connor sent back members of the Resistance to aid their fight in the past and to hopefully bring down the machines and Skynet.

How will the plot of this game be run? Basically, the players run the game by having characters interact with each other, whether human or Terminator. Keep in mind that no one knows where everyone else is so the character has to discover new people on their own. Major plots will be called events that can be trigged at any time by the moderators; these events can work in for or even against the side that your character is on, so keep an eye out for them.
So I am not only limited to playing a Resistance fighter? No, we feel it would be a lot more interesting that some people take up the task of being Terminators or even civilians from the past with no idea of what's to come. There are probably also people in the future that haven't been taken in by the resistance that can be played as well.
How do I roleplay as a Terminator? Your mission as a Terminator is search and destroy. You have no emotions, but you do have some feelings (like pain) and you most definitely can be damaged; still, you are hard to take down. In the future, you attempt to kill as many humans as you can or capture humans to become one of them and try to infiltrate the various bases of the human Resistance. You do not know where these bases are so you have to discover them in-game.
In the past, your main job is observation. You are there to study human weaknesses unless an event occurs to where you can fight resistance fighters also in the past in an open area. You can also stalk certain members of the resistance if you wish. NPC characters can be killed if the situation calls for it but to only those that could harm a Terminator, such as police or military personnel.
NO PLAYED CHARACTER CAN BE KILLED OR CAPTURED FOR EXPERIMENTATION WITHOUT MOD APPROVAL!
At this time, only Terminators from Series 600, 800, and 900 will be optioned for play. See here for model description.
Could my Terminator character have been reprogrammed by the Resistance to be used for "good"? Yes, and no. It will be allowed eventually, but at this time (since the game is barely starting up) all Terminator characters should be played as they were meant to be. Once it is decided that Terminators can be reprogrammed, active Terminators will have the option of being captured and reprogrammed; however, there will be a very small number of these characters in relation to how many characters and players there are at the game.
How can my character get to be in the past? There will only be 10 characters from both sides (10 humans, 10 Terminators = 20 total) that will be able to go back in time. This number can change as soon as the population of the game varies and there are people wanting to bring there characters there. Be aware that once a character goes back in time that character can not go back to the future, and is stuck there for the rest of the game. Please contact a moderator if you want your character to be able to travel to the past so an event can be made to justify the transitions. It will be on a first come, first served basis.
How do Resistance fighters and civilians in the past interact? Much of it will be like what has been seen in the Terminator movies or The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The civilians will just interact with the Resistance fighters on a normal basis, like at the supermarket. The Resistance fighters do not have to be protecting civilians to interact with them. Civilians from the past and Resistance fighters can even fall in love if it is agreed upon by the players, but please inform the moderators of your decision so that something in a plot may possibly occur. Be aware that a relationship between future and past characters may have their consequences.
Will there be canon characters in this game? Can I play one of them? There will be canon characters but only as NPCs. It is possible that if a canon character is brought into play for a certain time, a moderator can issue an application for those who would like to play the character but they would have to follow the rules the moderator sets up for that character.
Can my character know a canon character? An original character will have no direct knowledge of a canon character. Simply stated, they can't "know" the character but they can "know of" the character. There will be no characters made to interact directly with the canon characters either, such as John Connor's second in command. The only exception to this rule is if and when a canon character is brought in-game then an original character can obviously interact with said canon character.
How will journals be involved in gameplay? Journals are not required for gameplay use; however, if you would like to expand character development, the journals can be used as a paper diary that records all the thoughts and events of each respective character. While in character, you may refer your character to writing in his/her journal. If the journal is discovered in gameplay by another character, only then journal can be read.
We are not restricting players from reading character journals as long as the information in them is kept from that player's character(s) until a journal is found in-game.
