So ends the long day of the week.

[Slytheriny not so great people types aka Baby DEs]
HOW is it only May. I feel as if the end of the school year should have come by now and I could be out of stupid place. Sick of a damn mudblood being Head Girl.
[Dung]
This place is feeling extremely lacking in anything interesting or cursed, and that makes me grumpy.

Someone's been in my store of potions ingredients. Whoever it is, I'll give you exactly one hour to return the ingredients you stole, some of which are rare and highly recognisable. Should they not be where they were by then, I will find whoever took them.

There's a cat wandering the Charms corridor yowling like she's in heat. Grey tabby. Not McGonagall, I've already checked, though that'd be a fucking sight, wouldn't it?

I was going to share a different poem by Ogden Nash (and I still will) but then I realized that, it being the last day of April, this one would also be appropriate. (And also very sweet.)

Always Marry An April Girl
Praise the spells and bless the charms,
I found April in my arms.
April golden, April cloudy,
Gracious, cruel, tender, rowdy;
April soft in flowered languor,
April cold with sudden anger,
Ever changing, ever true --
I love April, I love you.

And here's the other -- a bit sillier, a bit more ogdenational -- which won out over the even sillier I'll Get One Tomorrow purely because it's short and it takes time to write these out correctly.

The Grackle
The grackle's voice is less than mellow,
His heart is black, his eye is yellow,
He bullies more attractive birds
With hoodlum deeds and vulgar words,
And should a human interfere,
Attacks that human in the rear.
I cannot help but deem the grackle
An ornithological debacle.

Just in case you were starting to think good poetry was always bleak and depressing. (Or that I thought so.)

[Hufflepuff Quidditch]
All right you lot! Put down your quills and shut up while your captain's talking to you.

It's been a damn fine year and I've been proud to lead you through the season. Now tomorrow -- TOMORROW -- is our final match, final for the year and for some of us (not namin' names here) our final match, period. And for all of us our last together, yeah yeah.

Let's make it count. Ravenclaw's not bad, but compared to our sheer teamwork? Compared to our godlike rhythym? They might as well not even exist. So let's show them what Hufflepuff can do. Let's BADGER those swots.

Now go to bed and get your sleep, we want to be rested for this and do our best.

So I think a few of us might have briefly been in games together before, not 100% sure, but Emily threw an invite my way (THANK YOU BTW, my job rn is incredibly boring, and I have a ton of free time on my hands during the day). I'm McKenzie, and this is Mundungus Fletcher, who likes to bring all of his worst qualities to the table without any hesitation.

Dung's skill of thievery annoys and deters most, but the few friends he has probably keep him around just because of what he can steal for them. His single mom owns a small head shop in Knockturn, and Dung usually spends his summers either helping her when needed or doing "odd jobs" for Borgin & Burke's. I'm not 100% sure of the inciting incident that made Dung pledge his allegiance to The United States of Dumbledore yet, but nicking valuables for B&B will probably factor into it somehow.

He likes pretending that he's this unshakable badass, but he'd split in an instant before following through with a duel. He also doesn't show any obvious political leanings, and tends to just agree with whatever group he's with to blend in.

ok so who can he annoy today~

The grass is not yet drained of its color
and the birds are flying low, as before a rain.
The landscape has the look of something
looked at too long, a vanity by which things
know themselves. As a mirror knows.
In August, you have found the day
full grown as a crop you are afraid to harvest.
You are like the raven afraid of the ash tree,
or the snake which tries to coil itself
around a stream of water. Though it tries
and tries, the air is still as futile,
just as gray. Can you think of another
landscape like this one, of a pond
as black and obscure? The faces
in the water float easily as leaves, or now
they are blown about like bits of burnt paper.
This is the only landscape you know--
the wind, obligated to fill the curtain
by your window, and the ashes on the sill
knowing vaguely what they were.

HELLO EVERYONE. I had a really busy week at work and got off track with things. HOWEVER. Things should be better this week and I will be getting back into things. Yes. Good. Yay.
