femcg I know it's impossible for people who know me to believe this but I do make things with sugar in on occasion. Waffles can be a more-often food if you avoid the thick Belgian kind and make the thin sort instead. #delicious #cookery #healthyeating #sometimesfood

It is! I feel the need to get out and fly so I can whip some more up without feeling guilty.

I have also heard that putting sugar on fruit balances things out.

Merc keeps trying to tell me that but no, what you need is fat and protein. So bacon and eggs.

Or maybe almonds? Walnuts?

But also, please, yes, tell me more about how I should eat bacon and eggs.

I suppose walnuts or almonds would be good but I tend to prefer them with snacks or salads, or occasionally on ice cream. Eggs are under-rated; the latest research says they're not as bad for you as we used to think. And a slice or two of bacon now and then is a part of a balanced diet.

Now if you really want to fill up and have no carbs or sugat, the way to do it all is with eggs and some kind of greens. Cook the greens in the pan with garlic, then scramble the eggs in them, and you have a plate full of deliciousness that's quite healthy and meets your nutritional guidelines.

You can eat healthy food and have it be delicious. You can eat delicious but not-so-healthy foods now and again as well. Moderation in all things!

No carbs or sugar sounds like a sad way to live. Although I think technically wine doesn't count as either.

It's not no carbs. Just that sweet things should be eaten in moderation. And complex carbs are better than simple sugars.

And I have sad news for you about wine.

I will hear nor read nothing of the sort against wine.

Just think of it as a sometimes drink. Not an all the time drink.

I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that a glass of red wine a day is good for you.

The question is whether it's good for your heart, I think. The Wizengamot is out on whether the potential heart benefits override the downsides. But having a nice dinner with your friends and sharing a bottle of wine now and again is also good for mental health.

Moderation in everything is my motto.

Brilliant. I never drink alone.
