A list of things I'd like to do before I die, in no particular order:

+ Stay up all night and watch the sun rise.
+ Walk the Great Wall of China.
+ Retire.
+ Have one day when I'm not worried about something.
+ Spend all day, sunrise to sunset, on the beach with my beautiful wife.
+ Cruise down the Amazon.
+ New Year's Eve in Times Square, NYC.

Better late than never, putting together a list like this, eh?

On my way home from work this evening I adopted this little bloke, I call him Bernard.

Why can't sensible shoes and pretty shoes be the same thing? Even with charms on them my heels always attempt to do me in. I treat them kindly and this is how they repay me! Honestly, the nerve.

Then again, it is a good excuse to relax on the couch with a book, a bit of tea, and my feet up...

The cottage is becoming increasinly quiet these days. It has been suggested that I adopt a cat... I'm not certain that I have the patience or desire to have something crawling about the place. Though as far as pets go, cats are wonderfully independant which is a point in their favor. I suppose it is worth considering...

Autumn is in full swing and even though my allergies have been giving me hell this week I love the crisp morning air. It is certainly the time for apples and pumpkins. Which reminds me, I have a few new recipes to try out.

The last time I didn't have anything to study was during my gap year, and before that, I was a toddler. Does anyone have book recommendations to share? I ought to take a bit of time off from research before making any major advances in magical medicine.

It's a bit difficult to remember which things I'd put on hold during training, but I'm sure one of them was reading fiction.
