Happy December!

I think it is starting to feel more like Christmas around here. We haven't put up the tree yet, it will go up next weekend, but the village centre's been decorated for a few days and so are the shops. It's not quite that cold yet, but there's still some time before Christmas for snow. Maybe.

With the approach of December and winter, I am uncertain what it is that I most look forward to, but spending thee extra time inside with my beautiful wife certainly is a positive. I suppose I do miss the rides out in the fields, though at least I can still manage the occasional midday ride on the weekend.

Do we have a final calendar of all of the holiday social events yet?

I love you.

The holiday went quite well though it was unsurprisingly brief. Perhaps we'll take more extended breaks in the future, at the very least to get a bit of a break from work every so often. Taking full-week holidays can be far more difficult than one might imagine.

It is odd to see so many things already decorated for Christmas, and sometimes it feels as though the Christmas decorations come out earlier each year, though I am sure it's only my perception.

Cece's back in town and John's not fucking up his life entirely, and we'll be having a family-and-friends dinner soon. I trust Sally's working on invitations to post once we work out the final details. If you haven't already been, be sure to visit Beyond the Sea soon. The food is top-notch, the best meal you can get in the world London.

When are you available for dinner, Princess? And who would you like to invite? There's plenty of room around the dinner table.

We've got to get back up--

Well, I'm thinking a ski holiday is in order this year.

Guess how many Christmas trees I have in the shop?  Hint, it's more than there are actual days of Christmas.

Bonus points to you if you guess how many of those trees are charmed to dance, sing, or otherwise spread Christmas cheer, by any means necessary.

I think the bachelor auction is a bit of brilliance, actually.  Even if I'm not a bachelor.  It's for a good cause, and no one can deny that St Mungo's does good work.  Plus, it's an excuse to buy a new suit and get fancied up.  I can't refuse!

The semester is almost over, and I am so glad. For some reason, this past one has been an absolute nightmare. Scheduling conflicts are a nightmare. The next one better go smoothly. If you need me though, I will be grading papers and doing all of the end of semester things that I need to do before it ends.

Which basically means I'll be holed up in my study for a long while.

My sister just stopped by to drop off a bunch of stuff, why she dropped it all off I'm still unsure. Tallie there may be some clothing here that you may like before I give it all away.

Well, that's one way to start a conversation. "Do you prefer queen sheets or king sheets?" Well, he's not getting hired.

It's been a good birthday thus far, the day was fairly busy but I have managed to get home at a decent hour. The family will be gathering for dinner and a small celebration shortly and in the meantime I am enjoying the a glass of fine cognac.

It did mean that the usual game had to be postponed this week, but tomorrow will suit.

The afternoon has gone well. What with surprising my wife with flowers and lunch and everything. I doubt the day could get much better to be honest.

My apologies for neglecting this. I have been a bit busy since finally being promoted to head of the division and my tablet ended up buried under a massive pile of paperwork.

Let's have a dinner party soon, yes? It would be nice to catch up with all of you and these things are just so impersonal.

Three book launches this month, I'm sure this is the most we've had in a while. They're all fantastic, of course, and the parties that accompany will be excellent as well. I am trying to delegate though, which is a lot more difficult than one might imagine, but I do love being on stage, and that's made it a bit easier. My darling Beth's been a star, as per usual, and I can trust her to keep everyone else in line, on the occasion I'm not there to oversee.

on another note,

Happy early Birthday, Theo, darling!

Another year is almost over, and it just seems like every year passes by faster than the last one. Maybe it's just me.

I've already started getting Christmas presents. I almost wish we had some online shopping like the muggles do. That would make things so much easier.

Just a friendly reminder that the Oberon Theatre's holiday plays will be opening in just over two weeks. The schedule, for those interested:

The Fountain of Fair Fortune:
28/11, 7 pm; 30/11, 1 pm; 01/12, 1 pm; 06/12, 7 pm; 07/12, 7 pm; 12/12, 7 pm; 14/12, 1 pm; 15/12, 1 pm; 20/12, 7 pm; 21/12, 7 pm

The Tale of the Three Brothers:
29/11, 7 pm; 30/11, 7 pm; 05/12, 7 pm; 07/12, 1 pm; 08/12, 1 pm; 13/12, 7 pm; 14/12, 7 pm; 19/12, 7 pm; 21/12, 1 pm; 22/12, 1 pm

While you cannot buy one ticket for both shows (some kind of issue with seating or something like that), you will get a discount if you buy tickets for both shows at the same time. And while I have it on good authority that the Fountain will be a superb show, I have also heard that Three Brothers is nearly as great.
