"That would be much appreciated," Eirys answered with a grateful nod, "thank you." She picked up her now-empty weapon bag and slung it back over her shoulder so she could fill it with adventuring supplies. "And yeah, those were my thoughts exactly. Particularly when the Baeddhelm's eldest natural son was also killed by inhabitants of the city, while he worked for the city guard. If my brother had died, too... I don't know whether my parents would have recovered." It was enough to make a person want to leave the city entirely, Eirys thought. And yet, another one of their sons had been killed travelling to the family's lands. It seemed like danger lurked around every turn no matter where a person lived.
"But, he didn't," she added with a shrug, "and it does no good to dwell on what-ifs. Let's go shopping, eh? Where to first?"
