Ruby watched Fred, getting ready to defend herself. Fred couldn't kill her unless she had the knife or Colt but Ruby didn't want to get the hell beat out of her. After all, she'd just showered and didn't feel like getting dirty again. However, when Fred easily broke the chains, Ruby took a step back. "I saved your life, sunshine. That's what's going on," she said in true Ruby fashion.
She walked to the other side of the room and poured a small glass of blood. She went back to Fred and handed her the glass. "That'll take care of the initial hunger. I messed up on that part of the spell but you'll only crave it sometimes, not all the time like a normal vamp," she said.
Ruby then reached behind her and dragged the chair over to the side of the bed. "I'm sure you have a million questions so lets start from the top," she said before plopping down. "I'm Ruby. About 300 years ago I sold myself to a demon in order to have my life. I died, went to hell, and then around the time your big fat hero saved you from Pylea, I was called to fit this hell of a demon named Marcus. I won, got my soul back, was made immortal and a witch, and placed on Earth again."
She paused to let Fred absorb everything before continuing. "Pretty sweet deal until I found out my mission was to babysit you because you were to become a Huntress... you know, a bounty hunter with super powers. You put Slayers to shame," Ruby said before she narrowed her eyes a little. "You fun to watch at first because you never left the hotel and then you started wandering around. All those times you were walking at night and thought you had a vampire following you? Wasn't a vamp, sweetheart. That was me trying to save your idiotic ass.
Anyway, was supposed to protect you until it was time to activate you, which was to happen during some big battle. But your little boyfriend Knox fucked that up for all of us so I kidnapped you, had a vampire turn you, killed the vampire and activated you. Now you're a hybrid with both vampire and huntress powers. And immortal like me. So welcome to the freak show, Freddie."
