Fred nodded when Ruby mentioned hoping that they would be told soon what they needed to do. She wasn't sure she wanted that because she wasn't sure she would ever be ready for whatever it was that she was supposed to do as a Huntress, but she also suppose that the sooner she knew, the better because then she wouldn't be left wondering.
She still had no idea how this was going to go, though. She didn't know if she was going to be able to handle this.
When Ruby came over to her and embraced her, Fred found herself melting into her arms again as she breathed in deeply and closed her eyes. Now that they weren't fighting or throwing insults at each other, she was finding there really was something comforting about being held by her. It made her feel a bit better about all this - it made her feel like she wasn't alone.
When she felt Ruby's hand on her cheek, she opened her eyes again and gazed at her, suddenly feeling bad. "I...I don't want to throw you out of your room," she said, reaching up without thinking to wrap her fingers around her wrist.
