"When Hayden - Hades - whatever, was asking for Persephone, it felt a little like that. Like there was something inside me that just jumped for it. But now there's nothing." There was a certain frustration welling up in her for that part. Juniper had been left with powers but no voice in her head. Not guidance. Nothing other than just her own attempts to muddle through without help.
"When I met him, it felt like I already knew him. I mean, sort of like when we first met, right? But more than that." Like she had known him for far longer than the few weeks they'd texted before he came over and dropped the biggest bomb on her like it was nothing. "I trusted him - and the boy has a smile that just - well, you know. And I kissed him or he kissed me. I'm not even sure." She shook her head and then practically face-palmed at her own idiocy. "And then he just ran away."
She sighed. "And I felt like I was crazy so I ended up running over to Steve's place, you know the bartender at Midnight? Yeah."
