Malachi sighed heavily and Lydia turned toward him with a giant grin and the pot of coffee in her hand.
"Did you hear that? Said she wants to thank you."
"Lydia, I swear," he shook his head and pushed his nearly empty basket of fries away before standing up. He wasn't so stupid to think he was particularly attractive to the girl in question but Malachi was plenty confident otherwise and fairly outgoing, even if this was a bit embarrassing. He headed over and gestured to the seat across from her after holding out a hand.
