The sound of talking usually didn't catch her attention, especially in a cafe, but when the waitress walked up and freshened up her cup of coffee, her eyes lifted and she blinked once, surprised.
Her gaze moved over to the guy she was referring to and Rose turned the shade of her namesake, managing a soft little 'oh' as she looked as poleaxed as she felt.
"I see. Well...um, I should probably say thank you? That's very nice of him." Her accent was faint, almost too faint to pick up, but she clearly wasn't from New York.
