Reed figured his love of the water was all Neptune's doing, even if the god had only been awake a short time. His soul had always been inside of Reed, so it clearly influenced the mortal even while sleeping. But now, the god's soul was stronger and very demanding of the things he wanted. Right now, Amphitrite was one of those 'things'.
"Your vessel is.. unexpected," Neptune commented, looking her over carefully, while at the same time ignoring her words. He could be an ass like that. "You look nothing like my wife." He let go of one of her hands so that he could touch her hair, his fingers smoothing down the length of a lock. "But you are a beautiful nymph." He could envision her in a crown of seaweed, pearls decorating her neck, upon the back of a dolphin. "I want to take you swimming. Please permit me."
