Who: Odin and Frigga What: Frigga comes to meet Odin. Where: His apartment When: Late Sunday night
She had been anxious about this news for days now. All it had taken was one simple phrase and Frigga was all nerves and butterflies. I've met Odin. She had half expected to slip into a day vision upon hearing anything like that, as if suddenly she would be enlightened as to who he was and where he was at that exact moment. When she read those words, however, the only thing that happened was the glass of tea she was drinking shattered on the ground into a thousand pieces, just shy of having spilled directly on her computer.
It had been hard to discuss it with Bragi, even harder with Loki who seemed at once to share her nerves. But what could she say to quell his fears? The only thing she could: I love you. She had said that to Odin before, though. Did those words mean nothing? Did a promise mean nothing? Was she reading the fates wrong? It didn't change the fact that she had meant it when she spoke of loving Loki.
These thoughts shook her to her core so that when she left Loki that night she could barely explain where or to who she was going. All that she could manage was a simple good-bye.
"I love you... I'm coming back," and then she watched him settle beside Hnossa with his knowing green eyes before she slipped out of the apartment.
Odin didn't live very far from her, actually, which only served to make her more jittery. He had been this close all along?? Nine years and no word?? But could he really be blamed solely for that? After all, despite her not having visions of him perhaps she should have still tried to look. Frigga barely registered that it was raining until she was entering his building and someone pointed out that she was soaked to the bone.
"Huh? Oh... oh," she apologized for it and numbly walked to the elevator. Minutes later she was knocking on his door, small coat tugged tight around her petite body as she waited. Her heart thundered so loudly it made blood pound in her ears.
