Who: Ben/Cronus and Kate/Rhea
When: Sunday afternoon
Where: their home
What: Cronus decides to come clean with his wife
Talking with Hades was the last bit of encouragement Cronus needed. If his son could come clean and risk losing the love of his life, then Cronus could do the same. Both men needed to be honest and take whatever consequences came with that truth. He'd tell Kate, finally, that he'd been lying to her all these years. That their first meeting was not accidental. That he'd been in love with her long before that day. That the name Ben Harrison was just that, a name, nothing more.
His resolve was strong when he gave the girls his credit card and told them to go shopping for a few hours. They didn't ask if he was joking, even though it was the first of April. The snatched the piece of plastic from his hand and took off.
Alone with Kate now, Cronus braced for a bad reaction. "Kate.. will you come with me to the garden? I have something I want to show you." He escorted her up there, but it was raining, so when they were outside, he stayed with her under the covered portion. Cronus pulled her to sit with him on a padded bench. "You saw the forecast today, right?" She always watched, because the weather was important to her as a gardener. "It's supposed to rain all afternoon and evening. That's more water than your garden needs." Cronus turned his attention to the space in front of them that was being doused. Instantly, the rain stopped, but only over the neat section that included her flower beds. It was clear that the rain continued to drive down all around them. It was as though someone had put a large umbrella over this spot alone.
