A throb of discomfort that had nothing to do with her injuries rippled through Dani's chest; Tony's bedroom was not where she wanted to have this conversation (or any conversation, as current), especially with Opal playing in the next room, away from her eyes. However, she predicted some... unpleasantness coming. Maybe it was best they kept a wall between them and their daughter for it.
Sitting down, Dani's lips pressed as she shook her head, mildly declining the pills without a hint of humor given to his attempt at a joke. It would've been funnier if so much wasn't on her mind - hopefully he understood that. Preparing herself, she huffed lightly, attempting to steel her resolve. She met his eyes, and swallowed.
"I know I never told you a lot about when I lived back in Chicago," she started, keeping her tone low. "There was a good reason - at least, it was a good reason until all this happened."
