Wow. Energy much? Dani's smile was instant and automatic, obviously picking up on the thing that she needed the most at the time. And chocolate pie certainly didn't hurt.
"Chocolate's never a bad idea," Dani said, carefully (slowly) easing herself into the booth across from the younger woman. "Thank you for that - the only chocolate I've had in the last week was half a diet brownie one of the nurses slipped to me after hours."
After giving a prompt waitress an order for coffee (strong, strong coffee), Dani winced as she shrugged out of her light jacket, then glanced at the clock over the counter. She didn't have a lot of time for this, and fully intended to do another interview if this one went well. The problem was overburdening Emmy and herself in these first couple days.
"You'll have to forgive me, I'm actually running a tight schedule today - I don't move as fast as I did last week - so this is going to be fairly quick. Though sometime tells me you have no problem with rapid fire questions. Tell me about how much experience with young kids you have?"
