"That's me. Nadia Lewis, hi!" She pushed herself out of the bench, pushed herself up with help of the table and stood - all of which took but a second and finally shook the hand that was offered to her. "I'm Nadia Lewis." Okay, sometimes repeating things was the norm because for her, time went by excruciatingly slow. Which was a good thing for Dani, because she could only sleep a certain amount of hours each night before she woke up again, bursting with energy. There would be no groaning over the fickle sleeping hours that kids were prone to.
"I ordered a slice of pie for us and I wasn't sure which one you'd like?" She looked the woman over quickly, noted the cane and wondered what else could be wrong. But she wasn't one to keep careful tabs on the news, so the incident with Le Chat Noir and everything else, had completely passed her by without raising the slightest bit of an alarm. "So I went with chocolate. Because chocolate's always a safe bet, right? I love chocolate. And pizza. Okay, I like everything." But then she took a moment to calm herself, slid back into the bench and then slightly leaned over the table.
"The pie's great here," she whispered, as if letting her in on a big secret. "Oh my God, I think I found a new favorite place. I had three slices already."
