“Oh, I’d make the best wingman in a place like this.” He winked at her, even as his gaze shifted around the room for a brief moment before turning it back to her. “Trained to watch what these kids are doing.” Granted, a lot of them were likely older than he was. “If I had to guess, it’s your hair, the way it cascades down your shoulders and along your back, making everything stand out. I’d say it was the way it frames your face and makes your eyes totally hypnotic, but then only I can see those.”
“There there, you get an A for effort.” He wrinkled his nose at her as he said that. “Oh, I definitely have a name.. wait.. which name are we talking about? Steve? Or the Bartender? Given that you are Organic Girl after all, I might have to go by a codename too.” He definitely worked, that was for damn sure. “Oh, definitely not a rich snot. I’m going to be up to my eyeballs in debt by the time I’m out of school.” He said with a chuckle.
“Not that big.” He said with another soft laugh. “About twenty of us spread throughout Queens. Got some family up north a bit, and more over in Jersey, but we don’t talk about them. Because, you know, Jersey.” Definitely teasing there. “Who wants to slow down these days? Life at the speed of sound, that’s how it goes.”
