“Can’t blame a guy for trying, right?” Steve said with a grin. He shifted his weight to one arm as he picked up his glass of water and took a long sip from it. Drinking wasn’t allowed on the job, after all. “I’m surprised the half of dozen guys who’ve been eying you the whole time haven’t come up and tried to make a move. Prolly ‘cause you’re talking to me.” The just amused him, but then he wasn’t a small guy.
He facepalmed at her words, and then rolled his eyes, at himself clearly. “Right, I got distracted thinking about drinks. Mid-terms coming up got my brains frazzled with all sorts of data.” He shook his head al ittle bit, since that was something he should’ve remembered. “You enjoy it? Helping with the co-op and all?”
“And, you want strong or light?” Once she told him which she wanted he would start to mix the drinks again. This was one he knew was good, and it had the baser taste she seemed to like on the last one as he handed her the new drink. “I’d prefer to teach in Queens, but any of those districts would work for me. Queens, just because I know the city so well.”
