Ciaran rested his head on Reed's chest, closing his eyes. He wished none of that had ever happened, he wished Charlie had just let him leave if he didn't love him any more. The events of that night kept playing in his head over and over, and as they did his grip tightened on Reed, wishing he had been there to save him.
"...I should have gone with you in the first place...never California, not..." Ciaran trailed off. "I know she has lots for me to do, but it's not the same, it's not you. It's not her fault, even if Mom and Dad were here, I'd want you instead."
