"Cora and I have been one since she was seven, she knows I do everything for her benefit that I can." And it worked well that way, at least on her end.
Her eyes followed the expressions on his face, a small line and a frown; Hera gave a sympathetic smile and squeezed his hand again in comfort. "More then once you have been challenged for your power, and you have even been without some of it when it has been done and you always prevail." She paused for a moment, usually quite pleasantly avoiding any mention of her own attempts at helping to try and overthrow her husband, but now seemed like an appropriate moment. "I would know." Her tone was quiet, apologetic, but still pointed.
Her gaze remained on him, surprised again by the thudding in her chest as he ran over her own fingers, and had to suck in a silent breath as he leaned in. Closing her eyes at the kiss, her blood felt seared to the core and she wet her lips as they pulled away, flushing slightly.
Another small smile as she nodded at him graced her features, "I've been looking for you for ages. It is good to know it was not in vain." There was an easy possibility that Zeus would have found this new freedom in a mortal body to mean she was no longer needed or wanted; and though she had not meant to marry him (or anyone) originally, she loved him with every bit of herself and could not have imagined never being with him.
