WHO Ana & Hayden
WHAT A surprise visit?
WHEN Wednesday evening.
WHERE Hayden's place of employment - the morgue.
It was spring break, technically speaking. Anastasia should be spending her days lounging around the apartment getting some much needed 'Me Time' in, but that was far from the truth. She had picked up a few extra shifts at the restaurant to compensate for the lack of tips she had received last week and when she wasn't working, she was busy reading, studying for her classes. Basically sticking to old habits and being the Busy Bee that she was known to be. Today would be different though. Today, Ana would listen to Alice's advice for once and actually take advantage of this break. Actually take a break for a change. A real one this time.
Ana wasn’t exactly the best when it came to keeping in touch with people. In fact, she was pretty terrible at most social aspects of life because she was busy. Studying, working, doing homework, reading, preparing for an exam. whatever. With so much on her plate most of the time, she tended to forget about special occasions, or birth dates, or meeting up with someone for lunch or dinner. That didn't mean she didn't at least try to stay connected. She definitely made the effort, even if she tended to fail miserably a majority of the time. She still tried.
Which was exactly what Ana was doing as she strolled up the stairs towards the city's morgue. She was making an attempt to reach out to a friend that she had, for the most part, lost contact with after transferring schools. Hayden and Ana may not have been close, but they got along well enough whenever they would spend time together and despite what most people thought, she actually liked his weirdness and enjoyed his company.
Quietly, she toed her way into the morgue, brows raising ever so curiously as she scanned the area for a familiar face. "Hello?" She called out, her voice soft. Not wanting to disturb the workers or possibly trespass into a restricted area, Ana waited near the entrance, her arms coming to wrap around her torso as she held a small brown paperbag within her embrace. Someone would come eventually. One of the workers taking a smoke break or a security guard making another one of their rounds. Ana could wait. Ana would be patient.
