Imogen looked up from where she was writing the order down on her pad. The kitchen tended to moan about doing things off the menu, but they knew their waitresses ways. Imogen was the kind who'd go out of her way to help, and people got used to it. But there had been an increasing number of customers lately who seemed determined to pull her into conversation. First that lawyer guy - Sam - and now this girl. She wasn't one to be rude, but it seemed rather surprising to her that anyone would be that interested in what she had to say.
"Erm... Yes," she confirmed, tapping the namebadge pinned to her mint green uniform. "Right," she agreed, remembering the online conversation. "Erm... Nice to meet you. Properly." She slipped the notebook back into her apron pocket. "I'll just go grab that coffee."
Imogen turned away to put the order into the kitchen, before moving to brew the coffee and make a couple of milkshakes. Once they were ready, she paused by her siblings table to give the girls the pink drinks, before moving back to Lucia. "Here you go," she smiled, sliding the mug over to Lucia. "Extra cream. Sugar's in the middle of the table. Just help yourself."
She straightened up to check on the girls, picking up the tray and holding it against her chest. "My sisters," she told Lucia, nodding towards the two little girls sat in the corner. "I'm combining babysitting with serving."
