For the first time, in a long time, Melinda felt at her ease sharing a joke and a meal with a relative stranger. The fact that he was indeed handsome didn't hurt, but as she grinned at the joke, it occurred to her that it was more than that. "Very much so," she found herself saying. "It suits you." She smiled as he seemed to take exception and enjoy his own joke. Even so, Melinda found herself staring. Not the unabashed stare of admiration, but of one in thought who looked more through him than at him.
Her breath caught in her throat, Isis felt the god soul across from her as keenly as if Melinda had just been slapped in the face by cosmic whiplash. "No...." Melinda said, trying to refocus herself around the goddess pounding in her head. "I'm quite observant. Was it for a happy occasion?" Focus, Melinda. I need to know....
Already the goddess Isis reached out to the familiar god soul. She knew she was right. She knew it. But something was wrong. Something...he wasn't Awakened. Was this man the vessel of her husband. Her lost and found again Osiris? And if so, why had he yet to Awaken. "I'm sorry," Melinda interjected. "I hope I'm not being rude."
