Who: Lydia and Reed [Neptune]
What: Lydia fiddles with her new instrument while watching the front public shop of the Apostolos Antique Shop
Where: Apostolos Antique's
When: Friday afternoon
There was stuff everywhere. Rows, and rows of all sorts of odds and ends that ranged from ridiculous stacks of old VHS tapes to higher end pieces of old furniture that looked like they came out of an old Victorian home. There was a maze of shelves full of knick knacks, collectibles that were too junky to really be kept in a glass case but were cool enough for certain people that they still sold. There was even a whole section devoted to Coca Cola items!
When anyone first walked in, though, they could see that the store ran from right to left and behind the first front counter there was a door that led to some back rooms that were off limits to the public. It was on the glass counter that Lydia had planted herself, legs dangling off the side and butt making it impossible to see any of the fancy costume jewelry kept in the case by the register. She had the heat turned on so she didn't have to wear anything but a pair of capris and a long sleeved shirt, but every time the door opened a wave of cool air made goosebumps erupt across her arms. It felt nice, occasionally, and the glass was cool on her calves.
With the ukulele in her arms she strummed absently, humming occasionally as she waited for customers to come in. It had been slow, most customers staying no longer than thirty minutes and buying very little. When the door blew open she pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose and squinted at whoever was walking in, hoping it was her mom coming to tell her she could take off finally.
