The holiday weekend was supposed to be one to spend with loved ones and friends while enjoying the wonderful weather, but that wasn't how Zinny had spent her weekend. She realized she didn't really have friends her own age that she could just go running off with and Holt was busy at the hospital. It kind of sucked hardcore, but she managed to run off to the park, zoo and museum anyway. Just because she had no one to go with didn't mean she was going to keep from doing it. It had never stopped her before and she wasn't about to let it stop her now.
Now, though, it was time for applications again. She was still struggling with her essays, trying to convince these schools that she stood out from everyone else applying. Of course she stood out. If they knew of how her father made a deal with Hindu god in order to cure her cancer, or if they knew that Norse goddess resided within her then they'd really know how much she stood out from the rest of the applicants.
With the papers all laid out on the dining room table, Zinny sighed and leaned back in her chair, staring up at the ceiling. Why couldn't this be easier? And really.. aside from those things that made her stand out, why would two of the more prestigious schools actually admit her?
That thought was cut off once she heard the roar of a motorcycle cut off in front of her building. Running to the window, she smiled as she saw Holt jog up to the door. Throwing her pen back onto the table, she sprinted to the door and flung it open, automatically throwing herself into Holt's arms.
