Being separate from her vessel's thoughts her words to her daughter had not been tempered by the knowledge other mortal's lived there. That Phoebe's parents lived there and that a girl appearing from the street demanding to be their daughter's daughter could have dire or unintended consequences. It was fortunate then that they were currently out for the evening; and so when the door was knocked on Freya's pacing position was ended and nearly jogged to answer the door. Just as before Freya saw the god-soul inside the body and ignored the physical vessel, instead nearly engulfing the youth into her arms. Freya had not been the most affectionate of mothers. She had been the Queen of the Valkyries, a goddess of war, and she had--many times been a hard shell to crack through, particularly after the abandonment of her Nameless husband. But, she was also the goddess of love; and unlike some of her other Pantheonial counterparts, it was not just a sexual love she reigned over. She may not have shown actively such a love for her daughters, but she perhaps, loved them stronger and deeper then any other god. And to first have thought she had lost Hnossa and then to discover she had not? A hand cupped the back of her head, threading in the silky hair, holding her close as silent tears streamed down her face, crystallizing and turning to amber as they hit Hnossa's cheek. |
