Neptune smiled. He was nearly certain, but almost afraid to get his hopes up. "Not my genius brain. That's Reed." He said it so simply, as though there was nothing at all odd about referring to 'himself' in the third person. Because it wasn't odd. Reed's thoughts were not Neptune's own. They could share, yes, but Neptune wasn't capable of understanding the complexities that occurred in Reed's head when it came to science.
He kept hold of her hand, but his free one brushed along her cheek and toyed lightly with her hair. "You're just as beautiful now as I remember you. Tidal pools for eyes," he commented as he looked into them. "I could swim in them." He'd met Amphitrite already. This was Salacia. It had to be her. He could feel his wife's soul stirring inside Eve's stunning vessel. "I thank the Fates for helping us find one another again."
