The idea of Ciaran leaving the apartment again right now didn't sit well with Reed, and it wasn't because of Eve. He didn't doubt that she'd look after Ciaran to the best of her ability, but Reed did as well, and look what had happened? Yeah, it was an accident, but it made him realize that he needed to be much more careful. "We'll see. He should stay put for now.. especially with the cast. Maybe eventually." Reed shrugged. "I guess I'm just scared of losing him," Reed admitted softly.
He looked over at her when she suggested he talk about his problems. Reed shook his head. "No way. You'll think I insane and move out." He let out an awkward laugh. "I can't pay the rent alone, so I'll just keep the crazy locked up. Thanks." The crazy being Neptune.
She's a goddess. You can tell her, Neptune urged.
Reed's eyes narrowed. Yeah, I know.. I can feel it.. but I don't think she knows she's a goddess. I'll sound crazy.
Neptune had tried patience. Really tried. This was the biggest effort he'd ever made. But he was sick of it. Reed wasn't listening, and this was moving too slowly. Neptune had a strong suspicion about Eve, and he refused to wait any longer to test his theory. He forced himself into the forefront and grabbed hold of Eve's hand, feeling the energy directly. "Tell me how you feel when you're in the water," he asked in a voice that was different from Reed's. More confident.
