"Oh, I don't work here," she very vaguely teased, going along with the flow of the conversation, despite the little paranoid twist in her stomach that constantly told her to keep to herself. It lowered her smile, just a tiny bit, but it was still genuinely friendly. "But my name's Dani." She wrapped one arm around the baby's middle to keep her grounded, then offered Reed her hand.
"This flirty-mamma is Opal, and my son is over there bragging about his last belly-flop." Dani twitched a nod toward the diving pool, where Grey was standing on the side, facing his friends in the pool. He was gesturing proudly to his reddened stomach.
"That's no Bronx or Brooklyn accent," she continued, shifting the conversation more to him, as was her habit now. She smirked happily with the familiarity.
