Rose's face fell a little. Apparently, whatever he'd hoped that conversation was, maybe it hadn't been. She wasn't the type to just shrug and say 'cool' though, because she didn't have experience around it. She didn't think he was a loser or anything, but she just simply didn't understand.
"Okay." She reached up and took his hand, quiet. The only other guy in the train stood too and she kept her eyes averted, her hand wrapped around his purse. Not every stranger was a threat, but it was New York. Strange things happened all of the time.
