Who: Holt/Bragi and Zinny/Iounn When: early Friday morning (probably 2ish) Where: starting at her new place but heading out for coffee What: neither can sleep
Holt had considered offering to sleep beside Zinny, either at her place or his, but it seemed like a bad idea. Even though she was eighteen now, this was still really new for both of them, and he was trying to slow things down. His conversation with Molly at the funeral made him all the more reluctant. She'd put the fear of God in him. Or maybe the fear of Hebe. While Molly was usually levelheaded, he worried. What if this upset her enough to question his fitness as a father? He couldn't risk that. He needed to proceed with caution.
The man dressed quickly in loose jeans, a t-shirt, a pullover hoodie, and finally threw on his boots, jacket and some gloves. He grabbed two helmets as he headed out the door.
There was never any sort of schedule for Holt and Molly in regards to when Quinn stayed with either of them. Her time was split fairly evenly and varied according to her needs and theirs. Tonight, she was with her mom. Tomorrow night, she'd probably be with him. She was still getting over her cold, but they didn't have much choice in moving her around given their needs with work. Their needs might get more complicated though, because Holt wanted to make room in his life for Zinny, and if he was going to be true to his word in keeping Quinn out of the mix, he could only spend time with Zinny when he wasn't on dad duty.
All these thoughts raced through his head as he traveled the streets. They were far less crowded at this hour. He made it to her place quickly, astonished by the grandeur. Well, she'd certainly moved up in the world!
Holt sent her a text to let her know he was outside, because he didn't want to wake her great aunt. If Zinny wanted him to come up, he would, but he was a little nervous about doing so.
